need help

LET US HELP YOU

Through the efforts of the community, S.E.R.V.E. is able to provide a number of programs to assist those who are struggling. Our primary mission is to provide emergency food pantry assistance to Stafford families in critical need of food support. If you have found yourself in a difficult situation please contact us for assistance.

Note: Below we also include a resource list for organizations in the area that may also be of help.

FOOD PANTRY

S.E.R.V.E.'s Food Pantry provides assistance to families once a month. Our families receive a box of nutritious food, bags of breads, meat and produce meant to provide for a family for a week. We encourage those in need to go to the Department of Social Services and apply for food stamps. For the most part, our pantry helps families with their food needs by filling the gap between monthly assistance.

EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

If circumstances have left it difficult to make ends meet, S.E.R.V.E. offers residents of Stafford financial support towards rent, utilities and urgent medications once in a twelve-month time period.
Due to the huge demand for our services, we must see residents by appointment on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 11:00am - 4:00pm. To set up an appointment & info about required documents, call 540-288-8223.

EMERGENCY PRESCRIPTION ASSISTANCE

We are able to help with client prescriptions in an effort to support their emergency medical needs. We do this through a grant that we received from the Stafford Hospital Foundation. We are delighted to help Stafford families in need of prescriptions assistance, and very grateful to Stafford Hospital Foundation for the opportunity to do so! Getting prescriptions can be costly and we are honored to help!

HOLIDAY INITIATIVES

HOLIDAY PROGRAMS

With the help of our AMAZING community, we are able to provide wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas “Baskets” of food, including turkeys to around 350 families during the Holidays. Each box is filled with all of the traditional foods that make the Holiday Season so memorable. We sincerely ask for and appreciate your continued support during the holiday season! The holidays are a wonderful time of year…unless you are among those who are in crisis situations. When this is your reality, the expense of the season adds another tremendous burden to your shoulders; one that cannot be managed.

TEEN CHRISTMAS PROGRAM

One of our favorite ‘Out of the Box’ programs is our Teen Christmas Program. We started this program 6 years ago when we realized that we had ‘Toys for Tots’ for our kiddo’s, ‘Santa for a Senior” for our Senior Citizens, but our Teens (who are at a very fragile point in their lives) were left out! Since then we have worked hard to find support of upwards of 150 wonderful high school teenagers every Christmas. This has been challenging at times, but very rewarding! Please, if you have a desire to make a difference in the life of a teenage student who will not have a Christmas present unless we help, contact us. We like to offer them $75.00 ($25.00 increments) in Target or Wal-Mart gift cards, a donated teen gift, and stocking stuffers. We try to do as well by them as we do for our kids and seniors! It is a tremendous highlight of the Christmas season to see the joy on the faces of the parents when they realize that their older kids will have presents under the Christmas tree, too!
